Artists in Residence third project for May

Usually, when I think of make a card, rubber stamp is my starting point.  However this time, I  chose to make a simple father's card using Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko products with NO STAMP!

SUPPLIES

  • IMAGINE Crafts® PHOTO Elements™
  • IMAGINE Crafts® GooseBumps™ Texture Spray
  • IMAGINE Crafts® Fireworks!™ Craft Spray - RICH COCOA
  • Print paper - Hero Arts
  • Die Cut alphabet (can't find the source - sorry)

HOW TO:

trim PHOTO ELEMENT, spray FIREWORKS_RICH COCOA, let dry

layout, adhere to printed paper then spread GOOSE BUMPS with fingers

spray FIREWORKS - RICH COCOA to die cut letters, let dry

adhere to background, then folded card

Goosebumps give shine and little texture to the background. I like glossy finish for a very simple card like this.

Artists in Residence May project vol.2 MEMENTO LUXE + TACK N' PEEL mono printing

Second project for this month is "Self Portrait"

In the meantime, I wanted to try "mono print" style art - so here I made a little card。

Supplies

  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento Luxe™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink - Dandelion/Love Letter/Bahama Blue/Northern Pine
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink Marker - Tuxedo Black/RHUBARB STALK/BAHAMA BLUE
  • IMAGINE Crafts® Multi-Purpose Squeegee™
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Tack ‘N Peel™ Reusable Cling Sheet
    Brayer - optional

    HOW TO:
DTP MEMENTO LUXE - DANDELION onto TACK N' PEEL (attached on acrylic block)

cover whole surface generously. brayer can be used for spreading ink evenly.

put cardstock on the surface, press evenly with hand or brayer

first print

add MEMENTO LUXE - LOVE LETTER to TACK N' PEEL surface

make wave lines with SQUEEZEE

bring back the card paper, press

second print

add MEMENTO LUXE - BAHAMA BLUE with stencil brush

set Magenta stencil, then put the card stock

third print - my background is done!

stamp (Impression Obsession) egg and carrots with MEMENTO LUXE - NORTHERN PINE

color with MEMENTO MARKERS, cut out

draw face, cut skirt from fabric remnant, assemble "me"

write journal with MEMENTO MARKER - TUXEDO BLACK, add shades with MEMENTO LUXE - BAHAMA BLUE with stencil brush

this is the other version. background was made from same ink application left on the  TACK N ' PEEL.

I found MEMENTO LUXE won't damage TACK N' PEEL.  To clean, just rinse under running water then air dry. (do not use paper towel - it will stick to TACK N' PEEL)

This technique is forgiving and additive.  I hope you like it too.

Artists In Residence for May vol.1

Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko announced brand new ink Memento LUXE at last CHA, and the shipment is about to start.

So, our project is using MEMENTO LUXE.  OK, what is MEMENTO LUXE?
It is a mixed media ink which can be used on fabric, wood, leather, and of course on paper.
It will be washable after heat set on fabric - so you can make your own mixed media art paint on t-shirts, bags, shoes, you name it.

Ink is water based pigment ink, so easy to handle, easy to clean.  Actually it won't stain your clear stamps.

Actually I did used this ink once - March project tote bag - so, this time I tried on my little wooden bird house.

Supplies

  • Wooden Bird House
  • MAGENTA stencil
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Sponge Daubers™
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento Luxe™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink
                    Wedding Dress/Bahama Blue/Love Letter

  • IMAGINE Crafts® Multi-Purpose Squeegee™
