Artists in Residence May project vol.2 MEMENTO LUXE + TACK N' PEEL mono printing

Second project for this month is "Self Portrait"

In the meantime, I wanted to try "mono print" style art - so here I made a little card。

Supplies

  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento Luxe™ Mixed Media Pigment Ink - Dandelion/Love Letter/Bahama Blue/Northern Pine
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink Marker - Tuxedo Black/RHUBARB STALK/BAHAMA BLUE
  • IMAGINE Crafts® Multi-Purpose Squeegee™
  • IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Tack ‘N Peel™ Reusable Cling Sheet
    Brayer - optional

    HOW TO:
DTP MEMENTO LUXE - DANDELION onto TACK N' PEEL (attached on acrylic block)

cover whole surface generously. brayer can be used for spreading ink evenly.

put cardstock on the surface, press evenly with hand or brayer

first print

add MEMENTO LUXE - LOVE LETTER to TACK N' PEEL surface

make wave lines with SQUEEZEE

bring back the card paper, press

second print

add MEMENTO LUXE - BAHAMA BLUE with stencil brush

set Magenta stencil, then put the card stock

third print - my background is done!

stamp (Impression Obsession) egg and carrots with MEMENTO LUXE - NORTHERN PINE

color with MEMENTO MARKERS, cut out

draw face, cut skirt from fabric remnant, assemble "me"

write journal with MEMENTO MARKER - TUXEDO BLACK, add shades with MEMENTO LUXE - BAHAMA BLUE with stencil brush

this is the other version. background was made from same ink application left on the  TACK N ' PEEL.

I found MEMENTO LUXE won't damage TACK N' PEEL.  To clean, just rinse under running water then air dry. (do not use paper towel - it will stick to TACK N' PEEL)

This technique is forgiving and additive.  I hope you like it too.
